A RARE .44-90 SINGLE-SHOT MATCH RIFLE, MODEL 'No.3 LONG RANGE CREEDMORE REMINGTON-HEPBURN', serial no. 2892,
manufactured between 1880-1907, with 34in. blued round barrel with octagonal breech section signed 'E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. N.Y.' and marked on the underside '44.2 4/10' , modern tunnel fore-sight (evidence of block-mounted rear-sight in front of signature), falling block action with central hammer, single trigger and traces of original case-hardened finish, the upper tang mounted with modern vernier target sight, deluxe figured pistol-grip stock with chequered grip and fore-end, the heel with second mounting base for the vernier sight, horn butt-plate and fore-end cap, 50 1/2in. overall, weight approximately 9 3/4lbs.
